Communal Environment

The project is based on a socio-ecological model: the illustration shows the framework in which a child develops. The interpersonal, as well as the community environment, offer situations that can either enable or inhibit healthy physical activity, the development of motor skills, and healthy eating behaviour.

Thus, it is particularly important to identify those situations and factors in which a child has the possibility of learning healthy behaviour. The next step is to integrate these situations and factors often and easily into every-day life. The identification of factors and the intervention development, is carried out by SALTO. Crucial to the success is the cooperation of the direct environment: through the coordinated work of the SALTO-Team, together with parents and kindergarten teachers, we can achieve more.
